Central Park Challenge 2011 for the YAI Network

Welcome to my Central Park Challenge page!

Support Blanca! Join Alberto Acevedo's Team

Goal: $2500.00

On June 4, we'll be participating in the Central Park Challenge to change lives for people with disabilities to benefit the YAI Network.

I am committed to doing as much I can to ensure that people with developmental and learning disabilities have access to the support and services that they need to live productive and healthy lives. That includes my younger brother Alberto, who was diagnosed with autism at age two. He's a consumer at YAI since 1991 and presently attends the Brooklyn Day Hab program. He's a talented artist and photographer who's work has been exhibited in galleries in new York and online.

Each year, thousands of babies are diagnosed at birth. More children exhibit symptoms during infancy or later. Still others develop a disability as the result of an injury or illness before age 22. The term “developmental disability” covers a broad range of diagnoses that include intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and learning disabilities.

Your gift will help provide life changing programs to tens of thousands of people with disabilities and their families each day. Children and adults with disabilities rely on the YAI Network for basic services such as preschools, health care, housing, job training and more in order to reach their fullest potential and be active members of our community.

Support my efforts and help me reach my goal today!

Thank you!
