Vincent's stories-Marge & Hank and Marlon Brando-September 25, 2011

"Marge, he's pausing! Come in, he's pausing!"

"Cut."

Vincent is such a great mimic, he kept us in stitches while telling us about LO:CI fans Marge and her husband Hank who helped him solve an argument with NBC brass about whether Goren should pause when he speaks. This story lead into another one about Marlon Brando's behavior on set of "Don Juan DeMarco" when he apparently didn't understand his assistant's efforts to feed him his lines via an earpiece in his ear, leading to a hilarious conflict with the director. Vincent's Marlon Brando impression is so good, he really should be on Saturday Night Live, or could even host his own comedy show, should he ever decide to go that route. This dude is funny!

  1. Blanca, I was absolutely dying when I saw this clip...one of the funniest moments I've seen Vincent do. I had already seen him tell the story of Marge and Hank but never about Marlon Brando, and you're right, he's impression was spot on. I was so amazed. Each one of these clips are true gems and thank you very much for capturing them and sharing them with all of us who couldn't be there! Yours is better coverage than the festival itself!

  4. I haven't heard these stories either, and was laughing the whole time listening to Vincent tell the stories. Thank-you for your hard work, so all of us can enjoy.

  5. I enjoyed being at the Artist's Panel even more than the awards ceremony since we got to spend nearly 1 1/2 hours with Vincent at Utopia Studios. We were tired after the previous evening and, believe it or not, Vincent said he had a cold when he first arrived Sunday morning. He sure didn't sound or act sick, though, and I was very impressed with his poise and relaxed demeanor. We really enjoyed him and he enjoyed us! :-D

  6. I am really jealous that you were there! I shoulda sucked it up...even though I drunkenly stumbled to my bed at like 5:00 Sunday morning, and to be in Woodstock on time, I would've had to leave my house by 7:30 AM at the absolute latest.

I am so glad I can see your videos, and it's like I was there...and I'm sober while watching it!

THAT all being said, this is absolutely hysterical! His take on Marge & Hank - I think I might be related to them! ;) And the Brando impression has to be the best I've heard! I knew he was a great actor, but this blew my mind! Never expected that! Being in a sort of nostalgic mindset lately (with the grammar school reunion last weekend, and my aunt's passing this past Monday), I was reminded of a story my mother told me. As children, their dad (my grandfather) used to read them Bible stories at night when he was home. One time, he was working this night, and they were upset at not getting their nightly story. My grandmother volunteered to read to them, but they said she couldn't do it, because their father used to read dialogue in different voices. Grandma promised she would do voices for them too. She then read the story of Noah and the Ark --- with a Yiddish accent! (Note: Grandma read them stories from then on... ;) )

  7. I could tell right away Vincent had a cold...he sounded stuffed up to me but what a trooper he was to suck it up and be so charming and funny!

  8. Up in these parts, it doesn't necessarily have to be a cold. Welcome to Sinus Alley, in the Hudson River Valley! One of my hobbies is sniffling! ;) (But if he says it was a cold...it was a cold. There is also a bug going round; that's what I had a few weeks ago...)
