This site features my pictures and videos of Vincent D'Onofrio in New York City beginning with my first meeting with him at Joe's Pub on July 22, 2010. Vincent is currently filming the final eight episodes for Season 10 of "Law and Order:Criminal Intent" in NYC. He also has several films due to be released this year and will be directing his next film "Johnny and Me" later this year. Feel free to leave comments and to follow along. Enjoy!

Vincent D'Onofrio Presents Excellence in Acting Award to Ellen Barkin on...
Vincent appeared onstage just after 10:30 PM to present the Excellence in Acting Award to Ellen Barkin last Saturday night in Kingston, NY. I filmed this from the side of the stage after I left my table to get a better view, using my phone to record the award presentation. Vincent extolled Ellen's talent and accomplishments on film, including her performances in "Tender Mercies," "Diner" (her character reminded Vincent of "every female cousin" of his in Brooklyn) and "Switch" (she played a man reincarnated as a woman as God's punishment for mistreating women in his former life. Hilarious movie co-starring Jimmy Smits and Lorraine Bracco and directed by the late Blake Edwards.) Vincent was so "awestruck" by her performance in "Tender Mercies" that he decided that "This is what I want to do. This is the actor that I want to be." Ellen returned the compliment when she accepted her award by praising Vincent as the actor she always aspired to be, although she's "a little older" than he is. :D

It seemed like Ellen Barkin was more impressed with Vincent than the other way around. I thought what he said about her was very gracious and had a personal touch.
ReplyDeleteVincent is always gracious and a gentleman. He was the perfect choice to present the Excellence in Acting Award to Ellen Barkin. He deserves to be the recipient next year. Every year, really.
