Vincent D'Onofrio on Men in Black 2-September 25, 2011

"What are you gonna do, Vincent?" Vincent describes how uncomfortable he is during the make-up test when under the scrutiny of TPTB, who ask him to give a demo of Edgar the Bug before shooting actually begins and he refuses. On the first day of filming, the Amblin Entertainment execs are the ones who are uncomfortable when they see Vincent's all-out performance for the first time. He not only pulls off one of the most physically challenging scenes in MIB where he has to walk, talk, move and basically do everything Edgar must do in the film, he gets away with it! Not only that, the special effects were dramatically altered to accommodate Vincent's Edgar movements, including the scrapping of two $500,000 puppets that were to have been used to mimic his movements at the end of MIB. Seems that Vincent's performance as Edgar was so unique that the puppets could never match his movements so CGI was finally used to recreate the Bug. The crazy actor shit worked out after all! LOL

  1. If you listen closely, you can hear the baby noises in the background. Vincent didn't let that distract him, though.

  2. I can hear the baby, glad that didn't distract him, even though I've had two kids, a baby crying still distracts me LOL How long did Vincent speak at the actor's dialogue? Are there anymore videos to come, and thanks again for your hard work.

  3. Vincent spoke for almost 90 minutes, which is a récord for him, I think. I have more footage to edit, and will be posting those vids soon. Thanks for your comments and feedback, Rose. I'm glad you're enjoying the vids. Vincent is fun to be around.

  4. Thank-you, he does look like a fun person to be around. I'll bet people in the audience wouldn't have minded if he spoke for an additional 90 minutes. I'm sure he has a lot of stories to tell.
